The Festival of Lights Parade in Palm Springs - the Perfect Holiday Kickoff

Every year, on the first Saturday of December, Palm Canyon Drive becomes home to the Festival of Lights Parade, where spectators come to see over 80 parade entries, including lighted floats, marching bands, drill teams, giant helium balloons, and equestrian units.

The parade begins at 5:45 pm on December 6th, and takes place on North Palm Canyon Drive in Downtown Palm Springs. It begins on Ramon Road, and heads northbound up to Tamarisk Road where it ends.

The Festival of Lights Parade will last anywhere from 90 minutes to 2 hours from start to finish. Spectators often bring blankets or pillows and can bring their own food and beverages, although no alcohol is permitted.

It is recommended to arrive an hour early to get a good spot to view the parade, as the Festival of lights parade draws large crowds.

The Festival of Lights parade is minutes from Palms at Park, simply exit Park Drive and make a right, then turn right onto Amado Road, which you can take all the way to Palm Canyon.
