If you are feeling extra ambitious with your goal to burn off those holiday calories and start your New Years resolution to get in shape, the 18th annual Tour de Palm Springs is taking place on January 23rd. Tour de Palm Springs is a CVSPIN-sponsored event designed to raise money for nonprofit organizations in the Coachella Valley. Each year the organizers hope to support more than 100 local charities with money raised.
Since 1999, the Tour de Palm Springs has raised over $3 million for local charities in the Coachella Valley.
The event has routes ranging from 1.5 miles up to 100 miles, which takes ambitious riders through Palm Springs near the windmills and foothills of the San Bernardino mountain range. Continuing down Dillon Road to the agriculture area of the Coachella Valley, the route travels near PGA West, around the La Quinta Cove past the Indian Well Tennis Garden, through Palm Desert and back to Palm Springs. There will be stops with food, first aid and bike stops along the way.
