Magical, Luxurious Palm Springs Villa
Palms at Park is by far the most beautiful place we have ever stayed. Imagine gleaming, pristine interiors, stepping into a warm pool with a waterfall to soothe the spirits, or a lovely morning walk followed by a soak in the hot tub. Or, maybe, just lounge on the pool deck underneath the beautiful San Jacinto Mountains! All stress immediately disappears. You couldn’t ask for more caring and attentive hosts than David and Frank. They were fantastic! Their house is designed for comfort and visual beauty with clerestory windows as well as walls of sliding glass, so that one had the feeling of being outdoors at all times. One of the fabulous features of this villa is the Great Room. It is a wonderful open, airy space that contains the kitchen, dinning, and living rooms. All of the bedrooms open on to the Great Room so it became the natural gathering space for our group. By the way, all of the bedrooms, in addition to opening on to the Great Room also have their own door to the outside for those times when you want some quiet time. It was so delightful to prepare a meal in the “dream kitchen”, with top of the line appliances, gorgeous center islands, and excellent quality cookware. Did I mention the large stainless steel grill on the patio? During the day, the Great Room is filled with wonderful natural light from the wall of windows that faces the mountains. At night, the three huge chandeliers in the room cast a magical light pattern that is both serene and festive at the same time. It was incredible waking up in luxurious bedding, sliding the doors open, and hearing the sound of the waterfall and the birds. We couldn’t decide which was more beautiful - the cool comfortable spaces inside or the pool deck full of lounges, comfortable chairs, and a fire pit with mountain views and hummingbirds outside. One of our favorite day-trips was to Joshua Tree National Park, less than hour away and not to be missed! You will never see anything like it again in your life, a high desert of stark beauty and vibrant colors. Be sure to bring a camera, as you will not believe what you are seeing. There are also museums, top-notch golf courses, Coachella Valley, shopping/salons and a million things to do, all nearby. So grab your flip-flops - this is an amazing experience, full of comfort, luxury, warm Palm Springs days, balmy Palm Spring nights, and total beauty.
