Is Palm Springs the New Cabo?

After months of lockdown and uncertainty, the want -- even need -- to get out of the house has reached a fever pitch. During "these challenging times" (a phrase which I hope is soon banished, but I digress) questions abound. Is it safe to fly? What about road trips? Are hotels ok?

We don't know!

We're not epidemiologists and we can't answer those questions with anything other than personal opinion. However, as proprietors of the most exclusive luxury vacation rental homes in Palm Springs, we can draw some conclusions about what you think from what we're hearing from our guests.

A lot more driving is happening.

As people strive to escape from the places that they've been hunkered down for the past months, driving a few hours to be transported to a mid-century resort fantasy like Palm Springs has exploded in popularity. No flying, no schedules, no hassles, just a luxurious turnkey getaway. Bring the kids and spread out.

Outside is in.

As Californians, we're lucky to have so much natural beauty around us. The glorious San Jacinto mountains that frame the resort village of Palm Springs have been the perfect backdrop for families to decompress and for groups to rediscover safe socialization while remaining physically distanced. It's all about the outdoors here, whether swimming, dining or kicking back with a book and a glass of cold rose.

Air it out.

The more we talk with guests about their viewpoint on the "new normal," the more we hear about air. We're all doing the best we can to stay on top of the news but it sounds like sharing indoor air is a big no-no. All of our properties feature large sliding doors and ceiling fans in every bedroom, making airing out the property... a breeze?

Don't delay.

Unlike past summers, Palm Springs is at near full occupancy. A quick search for upcoming weekend stays on the big vacation rental listing sites show just a handful of available properties. Savvy guests know to use those sites to look but don't book. You'll always get the lowest all-in cost by booking directly with the owner. For our properties, you can do that right book directly with the owners right here.

We look forward to welcoming you!

David Crosta and Frank Douglas designed, built, own and manage three large luxury vacation rental homes in Palm Springs. Two homes, the Palms at Park villas, feature 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. 5 Palms Estate, their newest creation, features 6 bedrooms and 7 baths. Inspired by fine hotel experiences around the globe, the properties were purpose built to provide the privacy of walled and gated private accommodations with the best features of a luxury hotel. All three homes sit side-by-side in one of Palm Springs' premier, historic neighborhoods on land purchased directly from the Bob & Delores Hope estate. Every bedroom has its own en suite bathroom and door to the outside. Each villa is completely private, hedged and secure and nothing is shared between them.
